Delos . Greece. The large open area known as the Agora of the Italians built at the end of the 2nd century BC. The large central area was surrounded by a Doric peristyle of white marble columns. The Agora was the meeting place of merchants and Bankers from mainly Sicily and southern Italy who has settled on the island. Sacred Delos is the birthplace of the Greek God Apollo and his twin sister the Greek Goddess Artemis and one of most important ancient sites in the Mediterranean. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
