The right gatepost of the outer gateway of the 13th century BC Mycenaean fortress of Tiryns. Peloponnese, Greece. Similar in size of the Lion Gate at Mycenae, the gate had two door jambs and a double door at least 15 centimetres thick. Possibly the port of Mycenae, Tiryns is one the greatest cities of the ancient Mycenaean civilization and is considered a masterpiece of ancient military architecture. Tiryns is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
